Cake and Chemistry

Today is June 12 and I am currently working on my chemistry pre lab assignment while baking a cake for Matt's birthday. It is a rum cake and by far the best cake I have made in my life. I will attach a link for the recipe at the end. It is pretty basic but requires a beater which is not a common thing in college student's apartments, thankfully my roommate likes to bake and we have one. This cake also has two of my favorite things: cake and rum. Who would have thought those two mixed so well together? Matt loves this cake and he isn't really a cake person, he likes the fruity desserts. So for him to love this is amazing. Now about the chemistry. I cannot wait to be done with summer school and chemistry in general. Future things in my life: I will be trying infused water soon. Probably start with some basic strawberries and lime or mint and lime. I can't wait!! Water is great by it's self but to add fruit flavors would be amazing! I'll try to keep up with these short postings now that I don't have as much going on these days. Just trying to keep my mind busy and not lose my sanity this summer. Peace Courtney
